Terms of Use

Last updated: 15 August 2026

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Shieldome website, platform, and API (together, the “Service”). By using the Service or acquiring a policy, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Shieldome is a decentralized protection protocol. It is not a licensed insurer, bank, exchange, broker, or regulated financial product, and nothing in the Service is an offer, solicitation, or financial, legal or tax advice.

1. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 18 and legally capable of entering these Terms.
  • You must complete identity verification (KYC) before acquiring a policy, and provide accurate, current information.
  • One account per person. Accounts are personal and may not be sold, shared, or transferred.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials, devices, and wallet keys. We cannot recover lost keys.
  • Access is void where prohibited and may be restricted for certain jurisdictions or sanctioned parties.

2. The Service

Shieldome provides coverage infrastructure: a platform to acquire and track policies, an API, and on-chain settlement. The Protocol does not manage positions, execute trades for you, or advise on strategy. Coverage terms are set out in the Coverage Rules, which form part of these Terms.

3. Premiums and purchases

  • Premiums are paid in USDT on a supported network. Sending funds on an unsupported network or to an incorrect address may result in permanent loss, which we cannot reverse.
  • A policy becomes active only once payment is confirmed on-chain.
  • Premiums are non-refundable once a policy is active, except where required by law or where a policy could not be activated due to our error.
  • Network (gas) fees and any third-party costs are your responsibility.

4. Payout timelines

We commit to clear, published timelines:

  • Verification: a completed series is verified against the covered market reference and signed. Verification normally concludes within 24 hours of the final qualifying day.
  • Payment: once verified and past any applicable dispute window, the payout is released within 24 hours, in USDT, to the wallet on record.
  • Confirmation: a payout is treated as made when the transaction is broadcast and confirmed on-chain. Blockchain confirmation times are outside our control.
  • Exceptions: these timelines may be extended where (a) network congestion, chain outage, or oracle failure prevents settlement; (b) additional identity or compliance review is required; (c) the payout is subject to an open dispute or suspected prohibited conduct; or (d) applicable law requires otherwise. Where a timeline is extended, we will tell you.
  • Wallet accuracy: payouts are sent to the wallet address on record. You are responsible for its accuracy; on-chain transfers are irreversible.

5. Disputes

If you believe an outcome was determined incorrectly, you may contest it within the dispute window published in the platform. We will review the signed settlement record and the market reference and respond with our findings. Our determination, following that review, is final for the purposes of the Service.

6. Automation and conduct

Automation is permitted. You may operate through bots, expert advisors, algorithmic systems, and your own software, including via the API. Using automation is not, by itself, a violation of these Terms.

The following are prohibited:

  • Copy trading. Copying, mirroring, or replicating decisions across accounts — whether your own accounts or between holders, and whether manually or by software.
  • Sharing access. Sharing, selling, renting, or transferring your login or account, or allowing any third party to operate it on your behalf. Your credentials are personal.
  • Multiple or coordinated accounts. Holding more than one account, or acting together with others so as to function as a single participant.
  • Offsetting across policies. Opening opposing or offsetting positions across multiple policies or accounts, alone or in coordination, in order to secure an outcome.
  • Exploiting errors. Taking advantage of bugs, latency, off-market or erroneous prices, or any failure of the platform, feed, or settlement process.
  • Manipulation. Interfering with the covered market reference, the oracle, or the settlement process.
  • False identity or data. Impersonation, using another person’s identity, or providing false verification information.
  • Abuse of disputes. Raising claims known to be false, or misusing the dispute process.
  • Attacking the Service. Disrupting, overloading, scraping, or reverse-engineering the Service or the API.
  • Unlawful use. Money laundering, sanctions evasion, financing of illicit activity, or any unlawful purpose.

Serious violations. Any act intended to defraud, manipulate, or circumvent the Protocol is treated as a serious violation. In such cases we may void the affected policies, forfeit premiums paid, withhold or reverse payouts, suspend or permanently close the account and any related accounts, and report the matter to the competent authorities where required.

7. API and third-party systems

The API is provided for connecting your own systems. Access may be rate-limited, changed, or withdrawn. Any third-party system you connect is operated independently of the Protocol; we are not responsible for its behaviour, availability, or results, and connecting it does not create any partnership or endorsement.

8. Availability and changes

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, and may perform maintenance. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.

9. No guarantee and risk

Coverage outcomes are not guaranteed and most policies break by design. Digital assets and leveraged exposure can lose value rapidly and entirely. You are solely responsible for your decisions and for assessing whether the Service is appropriate for you. Past results do not indicate future outcomes.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shieldome and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunity, or losses arising from market movement, third-party systems, network failure, or your own decisions. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to a policy is limited to the amount of the premium paid for that policy.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Shieldome and its operators from claims, losses, and costs arising out of your breach of these Terms, your unlawful conduct, or your misuse of the Service.

12. Force majeure

We are not liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including blockchain outages or forks, stablecoin failure or depegging, oracle or data-feed failure, cyber-attack, regulatory action, or acts of God.

13. Taxes

You are solely responsible for determining and paying any taxes arising from your use of the Service.

14. Intellectual property

The Shieldome name, mark, platform, and content are ours. You may not copy, imitate, or use them without written permission.

15. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or where legally required. Rights and obligations that by nature should survive termination will survive.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Protocol’s operating entity is established, and disputes will be resolved in that jurisdiction or by binding arbitration where applicable. The governing jurisdiction is published in the platform and may be updated as the Protocol’s structure is finalized.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new date and, where appropriate, notified to you. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
